At Stud

LowCountry Acres’ very own Viktor van de Kloosterhoeve aka “Earl” is our imported European Brabant stallion born April 2019. He stands 16.1hh and currently weighs around 1,850 lbs. He’s a rare dapple gray – the only 100% gray Brabant in America and one of only a handful in the world. He is sweet, well-mannered, intelligent, healthy and strong. His riding and driving career has only just begun, but we anticipate he’ll be a show stopper in the ring too!

Stud Fees

For the safety of our client’s mares, and our stallion, we breed exclusively through artificial insemination at LowCountry Acres. Our partnering equine reproduction specialist, Dr. Kathryn Sharbrough of Charleston Equine Clinic, provides expert care and guidance throughout the process.

Yes, we ship cooled semen. Upon request, we will collect from our Stallion Monday thru Friday for next-day arrival. Advanced notice of timing and breeding plans is highly recommended in order to best coordinate timely shipping and delivery. Semen orders must be placed no later than 10 am EST the day before planned insemination. There are no Saturday or Sunday collections due to shipping service limitations.

There is no live foal guarantee. If the mare is determined unbred after the initial insemination, the Mare Owner reserves the option to order additional semen and will cover the aforementioned collection, processing and shipping expenses with no additional stud fee. The breeding season closes August 1.

The stud fee covers breeding just one mare, which will be outlined in the Breeding Agreement between LowCountry Acres and the Mare Owner.
